BLOG POST 1
I want to learn how I am suppose to integrate all of these policies into classrooms. I want to be able to confidently know at least the basics of how to report on report cards effectively. I have seen how report cards are done but never been explained how things are done and said to bring about change (if possible). I want to learn how I can bring my professional learning into my learning experiences and make them effective to be a successful teacher. I want to learn how to evaluate using different tools as I have only seen this for one subject (religion). I also want to learn more about the different tools needed to help students with special needs or difficulties in learning (ESL/ELL/ELD).
BLOG POST 2
To improve student learning in my classroom I will get to know my students first. This is the first thing I will need to look at in order to figure out where my students are in their learning and how I can adapt any students effectively into my classroom. I will look at IEP's and figure out what types of learning styles my students are demonstrating. Based on this I will have to figure if there are any accommodations or modifications I will need to bring into the classroom to effectively teach ALL students.
I also will integrate the different forms of assessment as I see fit during different assignments. I will use anecdotal records when I want to have conversations to see where the students understanding is as an overview. I will use rubrics when giving a formative assignment in which grades are being recorded. All these types of assessments will be developed as I see fit as the assignments are created to teach the lessons. My students will be the number one factor in how I will figure out how to assess them. If I give a rubric I need to know that they understand how this rubric works and if they aren't on the level 3 or 4 how they can achieve the level 3 or 4. I will need to integrate different strategies of learning in order for all students to be successful in my classroom.
REFLECTION
1. I will use my assessment page to help me find tools I could use relating to different policies I will need to know. For example when looking at evaluation and trying to figure out how to evaluate students I can use my sources from my AER strategy to figure out the best method of evaluating based on what I want to evaluate. Also I can look back at what I have learned in the classroom. I can look at how I will figure out students learning by looking at different rubrics in order to figure out where students are. This will help me to evaluate and assess my students in many different formats.
I will also for example look for how to report. I will be giving my teacher my notes and my lessons so that for her report cards and progress reports she can deem where the students learning are. In order for me to give here detailed notes I can come back to my AER strategy for to look up what is being addressed in order to give detailed notes on what the students learned from me and where they need to keep developing.
2. I will look at my learning goal for IEPs. With so many students in my classroom having IEP's it will help me to know, understand and implement them in the classroom. To know that I am being successful I will give I can statements such as:
I Can read IEP's and understand what different accommodations or modifications I will need in my lessons.
I Can create my lessons using these IEP's so that ALL students in my classroom can fully learn the lessons being taught.
I Can successfully implement a lesson into the classroom.
